There are few things in life sweeter than the excuse to gather your nearest and dearest for a celebration, especially when it’s to honor a beautiful new little life.
When it came to planning the day, I had just one address in mind, the best one in New York City, The St. Regis Hotel. I had been to an event recently that was hosted in the Dior Suite. Inspired by the Dior ateliers in Paris, the suite captures the fashion house’s classic color palette of serene, matte hues, include subtle grays, purples, and whites, with beautiful statement pieces. Not to mention the most exquisite Parisian marble fireplace and huge windows overlooking the park. I knew it was where we had to host the shower!
And if we were hosting in the Dior suite, then of course the theme would have to be Baby Dior. I’ve been honored to be a friend of the house of Dior for many years now so the shower felt like this perfectly organic moment to create something magical together!
I fell in love with the very first look I tried on, Dior’s Rose Des Vents Dior Jardin Magique Motif dress. Its enchanting design paired perfectly with the Parisian setting of the suite and florals we had throughout the space.
As you know, decorating through florals has long been my love language. I worked with an incredibly talented florist here in New York, Pop-up Florist to create these arrangements and vignettes around the suite. From the fireplace to a bouquet bar, I also invited my guests to make one to take on their way – each beautifully wrapped in ribbon and placed inside of a Dior bag, the perfect party favor!
Family and friends arrived in style and were greeted by a beautiful “Baby Girl” bunting sign by Nadia & Co, who also designed the most adorable cookies and menus. that hung above 30 beautifully packaged Dior Beauty gift bags that each of my guests took home. We also had signature lemonade lavender fizz mocktails ready for sipping. The room was filled with the best laughter, smiles and so much love for our second baby girl arriving early this Spring.
Baby Dior surprised me with the most adorable newborn essentials including their new powder Pink Travel Stroller and matching diaper bag! Lucy, who is so excited to be a big sister, may have been just a little more excited to open these beautiful gifts! And as you can see, Lucy definitely thought the stroller was for her!
But the sweetest part of the day was this stand out cake by Bodega Cakes, which was served on Dior Maison dessert plates adorned with delicate drawings of lilac, lily of the valley, tulips and my favorite, roses. It was a classic vanilla cake with some warmer, winter-y notes with a lemon curd and fresh raspberries filling.
It truly was the most magical day and I’m still watching the video my friend Natalie put together. A huge thanks to Baby Dior for hosting the baby shower of my dreams!
