A second babymoon sparked a serendipitous trip back to Sunny Isle, Florida, where we found ourselves once again at the luxurious Acqualina Resort and Spa. After staying at the picturesque property for our first babymoon in January 2020, it's been at the top of our list to revisit ever since. Its Southern Italian villa vibes captured our hearts and is just a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of Miami Beach. It's the perfect distance to feel like you're in a quiet oasis while still being close enough for a swanky night out if that's what you're in the mood for.
You intrinsically adopt nature's pace when arriving to Wildflower Farms - the newest addition to the Auberge Resort Collection. Just 90 minutes from the city and centrally located in the Hudson Valley, the property is blanketed by lush green meadows that sway in rhythm with the melodies of Mother Nature - it's exactly the breath of fresh air we all so desperately need. Since opening in September, Freddie and I have been eager to plan our stay. Some of our favorite properties around the world are Auberge resorts, but Wildflower Farms is in a league of its own.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Italian alps sits the precious gem of Northern Italy - Lago di Como. A destination I’ve only dreamed of visiting, until now. There is so much to see and explore in this world that you wouldn’t want to visit a place twice but if that place is Lake Como in Italy, I wouldn’t mind. No one would.
I’m no stranger to Italy, but until now, all of my travels have taken me south or to the Mediterranean coast. Exploring each region is a cultural and culinary must as each boasts its own unique traditions and flavors. To finally experience the north, in Lake Como, it felt as though my two decades of Italian travel had finally come full circle.
