It’s no secret that the decade of decadence is making waves throughout the fashion community. Seeing this first hand on the runways in Paris had me on the edge of my seat – I literally wanted to run out of one show and buy myself a pair of high waisted, wide leg trousers!  It’s a trend that’s proving to have some serious staying power so get ready because it’s flare for Fall!

Being at the forefront of fashion can have it’s perks and it’s drawbacks. There’s nothing worse than being un-inspired by next seasons trends and to be honest, I’ve been less than enthused about this norm-core / athleisure trend, so you can imagine my excitement towards the 70’s revival. It’s what I live for! Jane Birkin, Bridget BardotTwiggy  (HELLO!) – these women have been style icons of mine since I could say “fashion”. Maybe it’s the bangs, the big eyes and breezy style sensibility. Whatever it is, I’ve always been drawn to the 70’s aesthetic. Dressing just got fun again 🙂

So the big question is, how to wear the flare? Not only flare but high waisted flare so not to end up looking like you’re out of the movie, Dazed and Confused. Your first trick is to start with 7 For All Mankind. Their moderntake on the classic look is fresh and fashion forward with design techniques that give your curves that classic shape. The look is sexy, sophisticated and glam. I personally love the darker washes like I’m wearing with their High Waist Fashion Trouser, the contrast on the stitching is my favorite detail on these. Pair the look with a tucked turtle neck or a crisp white button down and you’ll be ready for your very own Vogue moment!
