The effortlessly chic pencil skirt; It enhances your waist, shows off your curves and if done right will make you appear slimmer and instantly fashion forward no matter what the occasions. Truly, it might be one of the few items (depending on the fabric) that can transition easily from desk to dinner to red carpet!
It’s no surprise that the skirt was introduced by Dior in the mid fifties and by the 60’s we started to see it’s rise in popularity, and in height (the mini skirt) – but that’s a whole different story! Flash forward a few decades and this season we are seeing a whole lot more of this look! It makes sence that the pencil skirts making a comeback with the resurgence of the 60’s trends for Fall. I definitely think we will be seeing a lot more of this look which is why on a recent shopping spree at Ann Taylor, I had to grab a few of my favorites.
Although it may not be the first time I’ve tested the look out, it is the first time in a long time! Since the style can easily air on office attire, I thought this Ann Taylor skirt was perfect for it’s mix of floral printed eyelet – keeping the look a little more playful. They have so many adorable pencil skirt styles and at the perfect length too! Polka dot, floral, tweed – I honestly had a hard time picking my favorite! I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites from Ann Taylor in the below gallery – which one if your fav!?
