Last month, Freddie and I went completely off grid – turned off all social media and checked into a place we’ve never seen before – a secret three day getaway at Hotel Santa Caterina in Amalfi. And today, I thought it would be fun to share a peek inside our romantic little jaunt.

A few of our favorite spots were Lido Azzurro, Da Gemma and Pizzeria Donna Stella.

This family owned 19th-century villa, lovingly transformed into a world-class luxury hotel, offers a sanctuary where Freddie and I could escape the ordinary – a trip we’ve been planning to take since spending time with the hotels owner on our last trip to Turks and Caicos. If you remember, a few months ago, we were there for “A Taste of Amalfi in Turks and Caicos” – a collaboration between Rock House Resort and Hotel Santa Caterina where I first tasted the famed gold flaked yellow pizza.

Perched along the cliffside, we woke up to the gentle sound of waves and stepped onto our private balcony to witness the sun casting its golden glow over the sea each morning – I couldnt imagine how I’d never leave and as I sit here from my couch, I’m not-so-secretly plotting my return….
Dining at Hotel Santa Caterina is an experience unto itself. The properties renowned restaurant serves stand out dishes crafted from the freshest local ingredients. We enjoyed candlelit dinners on the terrace, where the sea views were as mesmerizing as the culinary creations. For a more casual setting, the beach club’s restaurant offered delightful options right by the water’s edge. Our go-to order was spaghetti with clams and pizza, paired perfectly with an Aperol Spritz.
Speaking of the beach club, it’s one of the hotel’s hidden gems which is accessible via a scenic glass elevator ride down the cliff’s edge that is not for the faint of heart. Here, we basked in the sun, swam in the crystal-clear waters, and sipped refreshing cocktails from the beach bar. For an added touch of luxury, the hotel’s infinity pool seemed to merge seamlessly with the sea, a perfect spot for a quick dip.
The on-site spa is a haven of tranquility, offering a range of treatments designed to rejuvenate and relax. We pampered ourselves with massages the moment we arrived—a perfect post-flight experience. Surrounding the hotel are lush terraced gardens filled with lemon and orange trees, vibrant flowers, and peaceful pathways that led us to our room.
Whether we were lounging by the infinity pool, enjoying a gourmet meal with a view, or exploring the historic charms of Amalfi, Hotel Santa Caterina offered the perfect backdrop for our romantic escape. Here, every moment was designed to create lasting memories, making it the ideal destination for couples seeking a idilic getaway.
